Good morning to all of you, On Wednesday, much of the Christian Church will celebrate the beginning of the 40-day walk to the cross of Christ. It is called Lent, and it is usually a time to reflect on the shadows, clouds and darkness in our life as individuals and the church. Lent offers us the opportunity to deepen our faith walk in Jesus Christ. |

Greetings in the name of Christ Jesus, Saviour and Lord of us all, At our Thursday night gatherings, we have been watching videos about what some church leaders are talking about what "the Spirit is saying to the Churches". We have had a young adult, a retired church leader and last evening the leader of the Mennonite Church in Canada. All of the people have stretched us in different ways, but they have been very general because they have been speaking to a national audience. |

Hi, As I write this, Noe and Angela's son, Elijah, is being taken to McMaster Hospital because of lung problems. Pray long, pray deeply and pray without ceasing for the healing of young Elijah. Pray for Noe and Angela as they live now with fear and anxiety for their son. Pray for us as a congregation as we seek ways to support this new young family in the coming days and weeks. |

My God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you far from helping me, from the words of my groaning? Psalm 22:1 For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol. I am counted among those who go down to the Pit. Psalm 88:3-4 Save me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. Bring me out of prison, so that I may give thanks to your name. Psalm 142:6-7 |

Greetingsin the name of Jesus Christ, Adam Gopnik, a Canadian writerfor the New Yorker magazine, recently wrote a book called Winter. He read the book at the recent CBC Massey Lectures. I found the bookinteresting as he reflected how winter shapes us as Canadians, butalso how we shape the experience of winter. He has many insightsincluding how the secular celebration of Christmas has come about, and about how hockey influences us as a nation. |

Welcome to 2012!! As secretary of Church Council, Barb Draper sent out an email to all the persons of the congregation who need to write a report for the Annual Church Booklet for 2011. She gave us instructions to give an overview/highlights of the events of the area that we have been serving. Also, outline what goals you have for 2012, and state any concerns or questions. |

On Saturday evening and Sunday morning , we will come to listen to the choir, sing the great carols of the church, and we will visit one another as we enter the doors of the church. Hello Everyone, As Christians, we believe that God became human when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. What was that like for God? Did God "feel" different after Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary? Did God get a tingling somewhere? Was God "changed" by the the very nature of being human? And who could God talk to about it? Did he talk with Gabriel, the angel that visited Mary or did he talk with the rest of the heavenly hosts that were in heaven? Did God wonder what the baby would look like after he was born in the stable in Bethlehem? |
