My God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you far from helping me, from the words of my groaning? Psalm 22:1 For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol. I am counted among those who go down to the Pit. Psalm 88:3-4 Save me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. Bring me out of prison, so that I may give thanks to your name. Psalm 142:6-7 For some of us in the church and the community, we have felt like the Psalmist this week. We have endured, and are enduring, disappointment, pain, illness and spiritual struggle. Life has not gone well for our families, ourselves, our company and our community. Where can we turn, when we feel forgotten by even God, and by the church, and by our community? We are left in despair. Jesus went to the Psalms to cry out to God, his Father, when he was on the cross. He told God, that, " I believe you are forgetting me here on earth!! " Jesus tells Him that he is enduring pain as he was arrested, whipped, beaten, and hoisted on two planks of wood. It was not fair for the world to do it to Jesus, and it is not fair for me to have to endure such things either. We now wait for God to show us the way. If the Psalmist can wait, then I must wait too. I, and we, can still cry out to God, and say, " Where are you?!?!?" O God, We are angry at what is happening in our lives, We wait upon the Lord of heaven and earth, the Holy One one of God. AMEN Fred
