Hi Everyone, The Church of Tim Horton's Yesterday, I did a devotional for the MCC Ontario staff at their Kent Avenue offices. I spoke on my experience at MCC Washington Office while I was on sabbatical. I always arrive early for meetings, so I got there a half an hour early. I went into the Tim Horton's on the corner of Charles and Borden Ave. just down from MCC. I have been there before, and it is always interesting to me. There are people there from different ethnic groups, speaking different languages. There are poor people, as well as rich people, who come there for coffee and maybe a donut. But , why do they really come? There are always groups of older men who come there for conversation at all times of the day. People know the staff, and greet them with a smile. Many people say hi to other customers. Everyone seems to know someone when they go to Tim Horton's. Why do people come there? It is more than the coffee and a Boston Creme. It is community; it is to go somewhere that someone knows your name; it is the conversation.... Why do you and other people come to Floradale? Worship, family, community, knowledge .....?? Why do people not come to Floradale Mennonite? Shalom and strength for the journey of faith and life, Fred
